MISSIONS

Today is my lil brother's birthday... but we celebrated his party on saturday! I will post some pictures later because this computer won't allow me to.
And my cousin, a little girl, was born today at 1:00 am.

Tomorrow my aunt Mary and I are leaving for Yospi, a place up in the mountains, deep in the heart of Queretaro where the Ottomi Indians live... They are very poor people but very hospitable. My aunt lived amongst them for 2 and a half years. She was there as a missionary. She had to live like them and dress like them in order for the people to accept her. Since then they have come to know God better and there are now several Christians there and a church is up and running. God has blessed them so much and we still keep in touch with them.
This week we want to go to encourage them to keep pressing on in the things of the Lord. And encourage them not to give up... because it is very difficult for them. Most of the people do not have a means of transportation although there is some kind of bus that goes through there. Most of the people have very poor homes and a low supply of food. They have a very low income and it's usually the women that have to support the whole family because there are very little men and of those few, a great majority of them are alchoholic and irresponsible. Most of the Ottomis are also illiterate and speak their own dialect... but the younger generation have better opportunities and most of them speak spanish.

I hope to be able to post some pictures later. Take care and be good!
God Bless you all.
