BLESSINGS

Image
My parents are still in the states, I don't think they know when they're coming back. But after lots of prayer, my dad finally got the job we wanted him to get. He will be working at a Prison... kind of like a guard... but I think, and deep down I know, that God will use him there with the prisoners. I think God is not placing my dad in a prison, He is placing him in a full-time ministry where lives will be changed and hearts will turn to Christ. Please be praying for him, for the people, and for the whole "ministry". My brother Shem will go to college and study to be a detective, he is so excited... and my mom is studying for her GED test... she is very brave -I think- because she didn't even finish junior high when she was in school. She had to leave school at a very young age due to money problems... and now, she's doing High School level work and in a language that is not her first!!... after years of not doing any school work, I think it must be dif...

MUSIC

Image
Okey dokey... I am so glad I have been getting a few comments now... Last week, I started some music lessons... I do not like the teacher very much because he is a little rude, but I have learned a few things and reviewd others I knew already, which is nice. And I have gotten to know my classmates better... they are all so nice! Hopefully the teacher will improve his attitude toward us when we talk to him about it tomorrow. If he does not, my classmates and I have decided to talk to the principal and let him know so that they can talk to him or find another teacher who can do the job in his place! I have been studying like crazy these past few months, in order to catch up with the credits I was missing for College... but the goal seems far away still. Please pray for me so that I am able to finish all my credits on time and well. I want to go to college pretty soon and I still don't have the funds for it so please be praying for that too. Thank you all for your prayers and I...

KIDS CAMP

Image
Finally, I have the pictures here! The kids had a blast and they enjoyed it so much. Two people from different churches sent us a donation to be able to afford the cost of two of the children. Mary and I provided enough money for one and each of them gave a little money... so we were able to take 4 children to the camp. They were ministered to and loved on and I believe they truly experienced an anointing from God. Mary and I couldn't go because of our jobs but we entrusted the kids to the camp leaders' care. And since we didn't go, we only took pictures of when they left and when we picked them up! God Bless you

Update

Hey all!! God has been so great. Somehow, God provided for 4 children from the kids club my aunt has every saturday, to go to camp this week. They will be back this Friday! I am so happy.... they were really excited too. None of them are Christian but they were all willing to go and were open to something new which is a big plus for us. I will post some pictures later when they come back and I can tell you all about the camp and how they liked it! Please pray for them this week... pray that God will minister to them and that they may be able to understand that salvation is the most important part of out lives as humans and that we cannot be complete without our creator. Pray that they also have a good time and make new friends. Well, this was a just a quick update, if anyone still reads this blog!! I encourage you to visit my blog at least every two weeks... I will make an extra effort to update it more often! I bless you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ and pray that h...

MISSIONARY TRIP: Yospi

Image
Our trip to Yospi was rich in blessings and work. A brother from an English-speaking church, Jim Bloomstrand, drove Mary, my aunt, and me to Yospi. We stayed there 3 days along with a group from San Luis Potosí that joined us a day later. We departed on the 2nd of July and arrived at Yospi in mid-afternoon. The whole 2-hour trip there was rainy and humid. My aunt, Mary, had made some wooden furniture we were going to take to Yospi for the family we were going to stay with. She made it so that it could fold up and we could take it in a pickup truck. We installed the furniture right away, as soon as we arrived. The children were all so overwhelmed to watch us put it together and they were very happy to have us there too. Mary and I stayed with brother Francisco's family, in his home. He has 8 eight children, 5 girls and 3 boys. Mary had also taken some spare wood to see if we could make a last minute piece of furniture... we ended up making a little restroom... well, brother Julio di...

MISSIONS

Today is my lil brother's birthday... but we celebrated his party on saturday! I will post some pictures later because this computer won't allow me to. And my cousin, a little girl, was born today at 1:00 am. Tomorrow my aunt Mary and I are leaving for Yospi, a place up in the mountains, deep in the heart of Queretaro where the Ottomi Indians live... They are very poor people but very hospitable. My aunt lived amongst them for 2 and a half years. She was there as a missionary. She had to live like them and dress like them in order for the people to accept her. Since then they have come to know God better and there are now several Christians there and a church is up and running. God has blessed them so much and we still keep in touch with them. This week we want to go to encourage them to keep pressing on in the things of the Lord. And encourage them not to give up... because it is very difficult for them. Most of the people do not have a means of transportation although there i...

What is Love?

Image
Hello my dear audience, Yesterday was my 19th Birthday. We didn't make a big party or anything... As a matter of fact It was mostly just a regular day with my family... And of course, I got the best gift of all: The gift of LOVE. God has been so great to me and my family. I love my family members so much, they are awesome people and they love me so much! I think the only gift I know that is worth everything, is the gift of love. Recently I thought about buying my electricity teacher a gift and I looked in several stores but found nothing that actually seemed worth the trouble at all. Therefore I decided that the best gift ever is the gift of love. You may be thinking that that would be an akward gift... but first you must ask yourself, what is love, really? Love is patient, Love is true, Love is not jelouse, Love sacrifices... Love never ends, it does not hate, it never reproaches, it GIVES. Loving is sacrificing... it's giving... giving of our time, our attention, our care, ou...

Alone yet accompanied

Image
Hello All... (I don' know who "All" is but hello anyway-LOL) Here is a picture of my three, very handsome brothers! The one with the blue suit is Sam, the one on the right is Shem, and the little one is Enoch. This pic was taken up in Wheaton, Illinois where my brother Sam lives. Right now, my brother Shem is here with us (in Mexico) because he hurt his foot and wasn't able to walk but now he has started to walk on it and it still hurts but he's getting better, thank God! My little bro is doing pretty good in school. Now, Sam, he's still up in Wheaton, working. He wants (or wanted) to go to college but he was never able to because he either worked or studied... Please pray for him! Also pray that he will get on fire for God because he's been kind of avoiding God... and avoiding my mom too! I have been doing CCI still, but it's hard to do it by correspondence. Despite everything, I love school so much... I enjoy everything and try to learn from it as mu...

“Beautiful Darling”

Image
“Beautiful Darling” With a heavy heart and unstill mind I come at your feet, Bend my knees, Bow my head You stretch out your hands, And lift me up My head still bowed, You touch my chin and raise my head, And you tell me that you love me: Chorus: I love you, daughter I love you, little girl Nothing will change the fact that: //You’re my precious girl, beautiful darling,// No sin can keep you far away from me, For I forgave them all… at the cross! I love you, daughter I love you, little girl Oh, Father of mercy and grace Spirit of glory and victory Son of forgiveness Deliverer of evil and sin Savior of my heart and soul You lift me up in your arms You looked upon me with love: //I am your precious girl, beautiful darling// Chorus: I love you, daughter I love you, little girl Nothing will change the fact that: //You’re my precious girl, beautiful darling,// No sin can keep you far away from me, For I forgave them all… at the cross! I love you, daughter I love you, little girl When I felt...

Hello all: Now I am taking an electricity class which is so much fun! At first it was frustrating because I didn't understand most of it, but now I really enjoy it because I have had the opportunity to apply what I've learned here at home!! Here are some pictures (finally!) for you all to see: I am the only girl in that class but it has been ok! Except, now the teacher is moving the beginners to 2:00 P.M - 4:00 P.M. instead of our originall shedule which was from 4:30 - 7:30. This is a good thing though because now I will have more time for CCI since now we will only take two hours instead of three as we used to! (And there will be a girl in that class too!!) Ok... so let me tell you some of the things I do: I get up at around 6 or 7 and take a shower, have breakfast, chat with mom, have a hot cup of tea... and so on... (that is mostly my free time... because once the clock strikes 8... its all about doing this and doing that). So, at 8... I drop in at devotional time with the ...

This week has been a time when God has shown me many things through many different people. He has told me that I must share what I've learned... The following is a poem God put in my heart to show to the world that maybe this way they will know that He is coming soon and we must be ready. Don't take things for granted... Get Ready!!! The end times are near, Prophesies are fulfilled. People should hear, The truth of God. Don’t be led astray, There is much work to do. From God do not look away, You must help spread the gospel too. Begin by your neighborhood, Teaching about God’s love, Until they’ve understood, Using words as pure as a dove. Act according to God’s word, To show that the mercy of God is great. Use the gospel sword, Don’t sit around to await you fate.

I suppose that this has been the longest time ever that I haven't blogged since I created this blog site. But I don't think anyone reads it anymore anyway, so maybe it doesen't matter. I moved to Queretaro, Mexico in early June and went on vacation to Oaxaca in mid-August. I truly had a blast; we went to the ocean and everything was totally great. All my family went except Dad. I came back from vacation to Queretaro to be a few days late to begin school (home school-CCI). Now I am working on school work every day, from 7:30 AM to 3:15 PM and use the rest of the day to work on chores or leisure time. Despite the fact that I am missing a few books, I have managed to finish every thing and school work has not been stressful in the least. I thank God for everything He's done in my life, He is so awesome. This coming monday, my mother and I will begin a course, teaching my little brother and cousin through this school year. Please be praying that God uses us to show His grea...

Why do we celebrate Easter?

Image
WOWOWOWOWOWOW!! I had totally forgotten I actually had a Blog! It has been soooooo long since I posted. WOW it's pretty amazing I actually forgot! well, I guess they are blonde-ish side effects! HAHA! Well, Life has been pretty good, can't complain because despite life's trials, God is Great! Picture day at school was pretty Chaotic though! But it was fun, I enjoyed it! Although I don't think I made the most out of my time in Literature class because I was being distracted by Seniors who had nothing to do but bother people in class! But it was fun anyway! -why are children being decieved? I hope you all had a blessed fiest of first fruits, the day when Jesus rose from the dead as the frist fruits from the dead. I know most people call it Easter but that's because most people don't realize what that means. The word Easter itself derives from the name of the pagan goddess of fertility, Ishtar (many of you CCI-ers know that, I hope!). Easter is meant as a celebra...

My 18th birthday

Image
Ok, Ok... I know it has been a long while since I wrote, but it's been a long and busy week! As most of you know today, March 16 is my birthday. I am turning 'dieziocho' and I guess that means I will be officially an "adult". Anyways... I am glad that I don't have to move out yet, HAHA since my brother Sam moved out just a little before he turned 18, but life came at him fast and it wasn't easy! So I will calmly finish this next school year, without worries and the year after that, I will move to Mexico (for good) and will teach a pre-school age group in a remote village. In that year of teaching I will also be studying french (and maybe latin or Greek). After that I'm going to finish college stuff over there too! Although I will probably come back every summer to work (since the pay is better, thus I can raise more money to live through my college life!) So these are the plans of an 18 year old gal! I hope to keep posting when I move to Mexico... Even...

Pandora’s Jar - A Myth Retold

Image
Pandora was amazed at the presents she had been given by the gods, they were all so great. After thanking them time after time, she took her gifts and wandered about in the woods, only happy for her new possessions, beauty and skill. As she roamed about, she felt puzzled inside. She sat near a large, tall tree, her jar in hand and thought. “What do the gods expect of me now” She wondered, captured by utter silence and stillness. The freshness of the morning breeze still clinging to the atmosphere, she couldn’t help but notice the strange feeling of contentedness it brought to her. She breathed it all in, it was all good. “The gods love me; they like to give great things to me. All I have to do is take them” She resolved her thinking and rose to her feet, hugging the vase she carried in her arms, a gift from the gods which she was instructed never to open. She began walking toward a path surrounded by tall, thin trees and looked around. She was alone, no one was in sight. She hadn’t see...

My First Love

Image
Oh, Did I love it (Acuña)? Of Course I did!!!!!!!!!! I can't stop thinking about it, it's almost like when you think you've fallen in love with some one and you cant stop thinking about them and feel butterflies in your stomach every time you do! Except this time I KNOW I HAVE FALLEN IN LOVE WITH MY SAVIOUR, MY GOD, MY KING MY FIRST LOVE, my passion, my reason for living, my all in all. Perhaps, you know what I'm talking about, and hopefully you have experienced something like it because IT ROCKS! I will post one of my Autobiographies for ya'll 2 read and enjoy!!! God Bless You

Back from Acuña

I(L) don't(L) speak(O) English(O) -HA This time on Saturday we went to the other church (the smaller one) and made a fun program with the kids, they loved it. We sang songs and later we divided the kids into small groups and assigned leaders who read bible stories to the children, they did a good job (everyone did). later they had some snacks and we played a lot with the kids. We also provided different projects for them to do such as bracelets, face paint (I did some face paint), coloring projects, animal cup things (I helped in this w/Mat), butterfly projects and so on. We played soccer with the kids, spun 'em around, carried 'em around, chased 'em around and played with the Frisbee and a big yellow beach ball! 2 children in my group came to Christ and enjoyed themselves as they prayed to the Almighty God, their Father. I feel that I always leave a piece of my heart with those children. Every time we go, my heart rips and a longing desire to stay there with them, bur...

Happy Valentines Day!

Image
Well, school on Monday was not that bad and everything seems to be getting back to normal (hopefully, that means good news!). It seems I am back to the stressfully long days I spent doing homework. I'm serous folks, if God was not in my life, I don't know how I'd end up. My life would be a complete mess! I am on the verge of explosion. I cannot get a full picture of why I can’t seem to be able to finish my homework, but it almost seems like I have my finger right on it and yet I don’t know what I’m talking about! –HAHA (ok, it wasn’t funny) Well, anyway, despite my clumsiness and weakened mind I am determined to be victorious over the battle I am facing. I am convinced that the only way out of high school is getting good grades, so I will quit writing blog posts (only for a little bit), and start doing more homework!! –But be not saddened, there is still hope, I shalln’t abandon thee, I shall post my Autobiographies (almost every week)! It gladdens me to be able to comfort ...

Finally Back!

Image
Hello everybody! My daddy got on the bus Friday evening and arrived at Queretaro (Mexico) on Saturday at 4:00 p.m. We left Mexico on Sunday at noon and arrived in Austin today at 8:00 in the morning! (I arrived at some cold temperatures!) I actually wrote the above yesterday but got lazy and saved it so I could finish writing today! My future plans are to visit Mexico during the summer and Christmas. On 2008 I am planning on moving to Mexico (during the summer) and I will be working (it's more like volunteering) as a teacher, I think I will be teaching to kinder gardeners mostly! I want to finish all my high school first and then after a year as a teacher the people who sent me there to teach will help me get a scholarship and will finish my college fun in Mexico. Hopefully this year will go fast so that I can quickly get my high school over with and move to Mexico as soon as possible!! -HA Remember to finish your shoolwork and keep warm! -God Bless you all!

I don't wanna go back

Hello, all you faithful bloggers! Life is Great. God is good. I cannot remember a better time than when I am in Mexico - It's like I was born to be here... I do not want to back to the U.S. I don't even know why I was over there in the first place... I want to stay here forever... There is nothing holding me back except for one thing...... what was it? ..... Oh yeah... School! I wish I could stay here and still do the homework, and have someone turn it in for me... And have someone record what the teachers say every monday and send it to me! Then... all would be perfect. I NEVER WANT TO LEAVE!!! I have asked God to show me what His will for my life is -to stay here or go back to the good ol' U.S.A! But I'm still unsure of His answer... although I believe that God places a need in our hearts to be in the place where He wants us to be... So He might want me to stay here... I have emailed all the teachers to send me an early syllabas so that I can begin working on my homew...
